Oxford County Updates Vaccination Policy

Unvaccinated Oxford County staff members will no longer have to do regular rapid antigen testing starting April 11th. This will not apply to paramedics and those working in Long Term Care.

OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County has amended it's COVID-19 policies in the workplace.

Starting April 11th, unvaccinated staff will no longer need to do regular rapid antigen testing. Warden Larry Martin says they will also change the policy to attend council meetings starting on April 13th.

"The recommendations in the report were passed and what it was basically saying is that you would still be required to be masked but you will not need your vaccination passport for council meetings."

Woodingford Lodge and Paramedic Services will continue to maintain COVID-19 vaccination policies that align with applicable Ministry directives. Martin says we still need to be cautious.

"Long term care homes are on a different plateau on their own with the people that they are dealing with and everything that is going on in those long term homes, so they are separate and we still have to keep the elderly safe."
