There are only a few more chances to get your flu shot at one of the Oxford County flu clinics.
Only a couple of flu shot clinics are left in Oxford County.
The clinics have been well attended so far this year and health officials are seeing more and more young children come out which is a good thing. Public Health Nurse Susan Bruce tells Heart FM what strains of flu the shots will protect you from this year.
"There is two A and two B coverages in the children's vaccines: so that's for anyone 17 years of age and under. And anyone 18 years or older it protects you from two A influenza's and one B influenza."
Bruce says the mist has been very popular this year as the kids appreciate not having to have a needle.
She notes if you missed the clinics, you can still get the flu shot.
"So health care providers in Oxford County, most of them have flu vaccine available, pharmacies, any participating pharmacy can immunize anyone five years of age and older, as well they have clinics at the Health Unit by appointment."
