Oxford County's Long Range Summer Forecast

Cooler temperatures will dominate the remainder of the summer

OXFORD COUNTY - Summer is officially here and the long range forecast for Oxford County is looking pretty good.

Meteorologist with Environment Canada Geoff Coulson says the next couple of weeks should bring in cooler temperatures than normal with daytime highs in the low 20's.
He tells Heart FM says they don't expect any extreme heat anytime soon. "We still could get a few days where temperatures get up to the high 20's or maybe even into the low 30's, but no real extended period of warmth expected at this point, at least for the next few weeks, we could see some more of those types of conditions later on in the month of July or in the first part of the month of August."

Coulson says he expects we will get some spotty showers over the next couple of weeks. Tonight looks like we could get some heavy rain with thunderstorms.
Coulson tells Heart FM we are in the summer storm season and wants to preach the message when the thunder roars go indoors. If you hear thunder head inside immediately and stay inside a solid shelter for at least 30 minutes after the last thunder to avoid getting hit by lightning.
