Oxford MP Arpan Khanna delivered his first speech in the House of Commons yesterday and it focused on the Affordable Housing and Groceries Act.
OTTAWA - Arpan Khanna's first address in the House of Commons was all about Bill C-56, also known as the Affordable Housing and Groceries Act.
During his maiden address yesterday, Oxford County's Conservative MP talked about the hard-working people we have in our community and some of the resources they have to utilize during this affordability crisis. He mentioned local farmers, Jakeman's Maple Syrup, Operation Sharing, and the Helping Hand Food Bank.
Khanna also promised to do his best to represent the help the people of Oxford and other Canadians during his time in office.
"I do not take this role lightly. I will be one of the hardest-working Members of Parliament in this Chamber. I will give it everything I have. I will serve with humility because I know that in public service, I am a servant. Canadians are my boss; I work for them. I will always stand up for what is right, not easy. I will always be a strong voice for the voiceless."
