Oxford OPP Briefs - Tuesday December 29th

Oxford OPP briefs include a pickup truck fire in East-Zorra Tavistock, a break-in in Tillsonburg and an assault in Zorra Township.

EAST-ZORRA TAVISTOCK - Oxford OPP are investigating after a truck went up in flames in East-Zorra Tavistock.

It was found on fire on Cassel Side Road early Monday morning and police say it was a brown Ford F-150 pickup truck in the 2006 model year.

It had been reported stolen in Perth County.

SOUTH-WEST OXFORD - A 52-year-old woman from Ingersoll is facing impaired driving charges after her vehicle was found in a ditch in South-West Oxford.

A good samaritan found it on Dereham Line Sunday night and called police.

TILLSONBURG - An investigation is underway after someone broke into a Tillsonburg business.

Police believe the culprit forced their way into the Spruce Street business sometime between last Wednesday and Friday.

They stole cash and the keys to several filing cabinets.

ZORRA TOWNSHIP - A 29-year-old woman has been charged with assault following an incident in Zorra Township.

Police say two people got in a fight on Road 66 last Wednesday morning.

It started out as a verbal altercation but it turned into a physical confrontation.

BLANDFORD-BLENHEIM - Oxford OPP are reminding drivers to lock their vehicles after a cellphone was reported stolen in Blandford-Blenheim.

It was taken from an unlocked vehicle on Harmer Crescent sometime between 11:30 p.m. and midnight Thursday night.

It's a Google Pixel 2 XL and it was in an Otterbox case with a pink diamond pop socket at the time.

OXFORD COUNTY - You should really think twice before you leave your holiday trash at the curb for pickup.

Police say thieves can easily figure out what you got for Christmas by looking at your trash which could make your home a target.

Officers say you should take large boxes directly to a recycling depot and small boxes should be broken down and turned inside out.
