In the last 2 months the Oxford OPP have handed out 300 speeding tickets in Zorra Township.
ZORRA TOWNSHIP - Oxford OPP continue to crack down on speeders in Zorra Township.
Police have been focusing on the area near Harrington as some recent construction and detour routes have more traffic going through the community. On Thursday alone police handed out 21 speeding tickets in the Harrington area.
In the past two months OPP have issued 356 tickets in Zorra Township. A high percentage of those tickets were for speeding which amounted to 300 tickets issued.
Inspector and Oxford OPP Detachment Commander Tony Hymers says they will continue to crack down on speeders in Zorra Township until the motorists finally get the message.
"We are constantly working with the Townships to identify hot spots that adversely impact traffic safety, so that we can provide targeted enforcement activities in these areas."
OPP are reminding the motoring public to slow down and not use our community roadways as your personal race track. Increased patrols will continue to occur in hopes to reduce the number of speeding vehicles in the area.
