Early this morning, the Oxford OPP and other first responders were called to a serious collision on the 401.
WOODSTOCK - An investigation is underway after a collision near Woodstock.
Sergeant Ed Sanchuck of the West Region OPP shared the details of the crash in a video posted on their X page.
"Earlier this morning, just shortly before 4 a.m., members of the Officer Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, along with Fire and Paramedic Services, responded to a crash involving three vehicles here in the east boundaries of Highway 401."
Sanchuck says the vehicles involved were two commercial motor vehicles and a passenger vehicle. In the video on X, Sanchuck also discussed the reported injuries.
"The driver of the passenger vehicle suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital to be treated for those injuries. The driver of the transport truck and the driver of the box truck were uninjured."
All three eastbound lanes of Highway 401 are currently closed for the investigation. Oxford OPP will reopen the lanes as soon as possible, once they can be securely removed. Sanchuck says updates will be released once new information becomes available.
