TILLSONBURG - A search warrant was executed in Tillsonburg, and two people are facing charges.
Yesterday, the Oxford OPP received complaints of a residence on North Street East containing weapons. It was around 10:40 last night when multiple units executed the warrant. As a result, a 46-year-old Tillsonburg man was charged with 5 counts, including Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition, Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Obtained by Crime, and Careless Storage of Weapon.
A 44-year-old from Tillsonburg was also charged with 1 count, which was Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm.
The Oxford OPP Crime Unit is continuing the investigation. There was an increased police presence on North Street East between Braun Avenue and Cranberry Road to conduct the investigation, and the resources have now cleared the area.
Updates will be provided as they become available.
