Police say they seized over $200,000 in stolen items after pulling over a transport truck near Sweaburg Road on the 401.
A 33 year old man from Quebec has been arrested in Oxford County while driving a transport truck carrying a stolen backhoe.
Police say they tried to stop the truck on Saturday morning at the 403 near the Highway 401 on ramp. The driver did not immediately stop for police and drove the truck to the Sweaburg Road exit before eventually pulling over.
Police determined the 2013 Freightliner transport and the 2016 Case backhoe he was carrying were both stolen from Oakville and Montreal. The combined value of the vehicles recovered is an estimated $200,000.
Gabriel Martel has been charged with 3 counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
