The Pink the Towns campaign has been a big success so far, raising about $5,000 for breast cancer research.
DORCHESTER - The Pink the Towns campaign has raised about $5,000 so far, which works out to about 250 lawn signs.
The campaign used to be known as Paint the Town Pink but organizer Bec Matthews decided to expand it province-wide this year.
"I wanted to find a way to band the communities together to give something good to people so that people felt good about doing something. With this lawn sign campaign, people jumped on board so fast it's fantastic!"
Matthews is currently battling stage three breast cancer and all of the proceeds raised will be going to breast cancer research.
You can support the cause by purchasing a lawn sign for $20 or a door hanger for $5. The door hangers will be mailed to your address in September and the lawn signs will be available for pickup in your hometown.
Matthews says you should place your order sooner rather than later.
"We've got well over 150 cities and towns to organize and the sooner we have our orders in the better off we are. We're not going to be taking orders my guess would be after June."
