The town of Ingersoll is planning public events to celebrate the Pan Am Torch Relay.
INGERSOLL - Ingersoll will take part in its first ever Pan American Games Torch Relay this summer. The torch will be passing through Ingersoll on June 18 at 10:55 a.m. in front of Ingersoll Town Hall.
"There'll be a kissing of the torches where two people will exchange the torch in front of the town hall and then it will continue to go out to King Street and then a small stop at the CIBC," said Ingersoll Director of Parks and Recreation, Bonnie Ward.
"We did have the Olympic torch relay a number of years ago, but it is the first for the Pan Am Games."
According to Ward there will be activities for the public set up at town hall at 10 a.m. The torch will make a brief 10 minute stop at town hall where Mayor Ted Comiskey will deliver an address.
