A statement from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's office says the Cabinet swearing-in ceremony will be taking place on October 26th and Parliament will return on November 22nd.
OTTAWA - We finally have a date for when Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will unveil his new Cabinet.
The Cabinet swearing-in ceremony will be happening on October 26th. A statement from the Trudeau's office says the new Cabinet will be gender balanced and Chrystia Freeland will continue to serve as the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance.
Parliament is set to return on November 22nd and the Government will deliver a new throne speech. Trudeau says it will include a plan to finish the fight against COVID-19 and engage with the remaining provinces and territories who have not yet signed $10-a-day child care agreements.
“From finishing the fight against COVID-19 to getting the job done on $10-a-day child care for families across the country, Canadians chose to move forward in September. Together, we will keep working hard to beat this virus and get Canadians vaccinated, create jobs and grow the middle class, put home ownership back in reach, accelerate climate action, and take important steps forward on the path of reconciliation. Our government will continue to be there for Canadians in this crisis, and we will work to move Canada forward – for everyone.”
Trudeau will be speaking with the opposition leaders over the phone early next week and he would like to work with all parties to ensure that all MPs are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
