Starting today, pet groomers in Ontario can offer their services for emergency care under new guidelines that includes 1 pet at a time and curbside pickup and drop off.
ONTARIO - Pet grooming businesses can reopen today under strict guidelines.
The Ford Government confirmed the news this morning. The groomers can open by appointment only with only one animal at a time with curbside pickup and drop off. This can be done for emergency reasons, to prevent trips to the vet clinic.
This new directive will clear up some confusion over the original order.
While the businesses were ordered closed under the lockdown, the Ministry of Health said the services were allowed if the health and welfare of an animal were at risk and vets could provide the grooming service.
Some municipalities enforced the rule and ordered them shut down no matter what, but others did not.
