The Woodstock Navy Vets and the Norwich Merchants both celebrated wins on home ice this weekend.
PJHL - It was a weekend of wins for the Woodstock Navy Vets.
The Vets slipped past the Dorchester Dolphins 5-4 on Friday with Diego Sabino scoring twice for Woodstock. The other Vets goals were from Nolan Brett, Thomas Guidolin, and Charley Barnes.
The Navy Vets also beat the Paris Titans 2-1 on Saturday. Braeden Tyler scored with 13 minutes left in the third period to secure the win.
Meanwhile the Norwich Merchants crushed the Titans 4-1 on Friday. and they celebrated a 6-2 victory over the Tavistock Braves yesterday. The Braves suffered a 5-3 loss to the Wellesley Applejacks on Friday.
The New Hamburg Firebirds are on top of the Doherty Division standings with 42 points, but they're closely followed by the Merchants with 40 points. The Applejacks sit in third place with 36 points, the Navy Vets are in fourth place with 35 points, the Dolphins are in fifth place with 26 points, the Braves and the Titans are tied for sixth place with 17 points each, and the Hespeler Shamrocks sit in last place with 11 points.
Over in the Yeck Division, the Thamesfrod Trojans fell to the North Middlesex Stars 5-2 on Friday and to the Exeter Hawks 5-2 yesterday.
The Trojans sit in sixth place in the Yeck Division standings with 28 points. They're behind the Stars with 29 points, the Mount Brydges Bulldogs with 32 points, the Port Stanley Sailors with 33 points, the Petrolia Flyers with 34 points, and the Hawks with 37 points.
