The Vets fell to Merchants on Friday, but they were able to beat the Braves on Saturday.
PJHL - It was a mixed weekend for the Woodstock Navy Vets.
They suffered a 5-3 loss to the Norwich Merchants at Nor-Del Arena on Friday. They returned to Southwood Arena Saturday night, where they were able to celebrate a 5-1 win over the Tavistock Braves. They also celebrated a 6-2 victory over the Dolphins in Dorchester yesterday.
The Braves suffered a 4-2 loss to the Dolphins on Friday and the Merchants doubled the New Hamburg Firebirds 6-3 on Saturday.
The Merchants sit in first place in the Doherty Division standings with 32 points, barely ahead of the Firebirds in second place with 31 points. The Navy Vets sit in third place with 29 points and they're followed by the Wellesley Applejacks with 26 points, the Dolphins with 18 points, the Paris Titans with 16 points and the Braves with 15 points. The Hespeler Shamrocks are in last place with 11 points.
Over in the Yeck Division, the Thamesford Trojans fell to the Lucan Irish 4-2 on Friday but also celebrated a 7-3 win over the North Middlesex Stars on Saturday.
The Trojans are tied with the Port Stanley Sailors for third place in the Yeck Division standings with 24 points each. They're behind the Petrolia Flyers with 30 points and the Exeter Hawks with 31 points.
