The Norwich Merchants finished the regular season in third place in the Doherty Division standings. They were followed by the Tavistock Braves in fourth place and the Woodstock Navy Vets in fifth place.
PJHL - It was the final weekend of the PJHL regular season.
The Woodstock Navy Vets suffered a 4-2 loss to the Applejacks in Wellesley on Saturday. Nolan Brett and Rhylan Warford scored two goals for Woodstock and Tyler Bouck finished the night with 32 saves.
The Norwich Merchants crushed the Paris Mounties 11-3 on Saturday, but they were doubled by the New Hamburg Firebirds yesterday with a final score of 6-3
The Tavistock Braves demolished the Hespeler Shamrocks yesterday 7-3.
The Firebirds finished the regular season in first place in the Doherty Division with 67 points. They were followed by the Applejacks with 66 points, the Merchants with 59 points, the Braves with 47 points, the Navy Vets with 38 points, and the Mounties and Shamrocks with 14 points each.
In the Yeck Division, the Thamesford Trojans suffered a 6-3 loss to the Lucan Irish on Saturday. Thamesford finished the regular season in third place with 55 points, behind the North Middlesex Stars with 59 points and the Mount Brydges Bulldogs with 60 points.
All of the games scheduled for Friday had to be postponed due to the snow storm.
The Navy Vets will battle the Braves in the first round of the Doherty Division quarterfinals, with Game 1 scheduled for Wednesday night in Tavistock. The Norwich Merchants will face the Mounties in their first-round playoff series, with Game 1 taking place at Nor-Del Arena Friday night.
The Trojans will face the Irish once again in the Yeck Division quarterfinals and that schedule has not been released yet.
