A plane flipped over on the tarmac Monday afternoon.
TORONTO - No deaths have been reported, but at least 18 people have been hurt after a plane crashed on a runway at Toronto Pearson International Airport.
Officials say the Delta Air Lines flight from Minneapolis was carrying 76 passengers and four crew members when it flipped over on the tarmac yesterday afternoon. Everyone is expected to survive.
Flights have resumed at the airport, but two of the runways will be closed for several days for the investigation.
During a press conference yesterday, Deborah Flint, the CEO of the Greater Toronto Airport Authority, praised the work of emergency crews that helped the passengers and crew members climb out the emergency exits.
She didn't say anything about what caused the crash but John Nelson, one of the passengers on the plane, said the jet landed hard on a windy, snowy runway. He held on tight while the plane rolled sideways, and he was hanging upside down when it finally came to a stop.
