Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announces separation with wife Sophie Gregoire Trudeau
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife Sophie are separating.
Trudeau took to Instagram today to announce the decision.
He says after "many meaningful and difficult conversations, we have made the decision to separate."
The pair have been married for 18 years, and have three children.
According to the Prime Minister's Office, the pair have "signed a legal separation agreement."
Trudeau is the second prime minister in history to announce a separation while in office.
