Police Briefs

Briefs Include vehicles damaged in Paris, Domestic Disturbance, a cab driver who was assaulted as the vehicle was in motion and a 19 year old accused of using racial slurs and assaulting a car wash employee.

STRATFORD - A 19 year old from Stratford has been charged with assault causing bodily harm and uttering threats after getting into it with an employee at the Halo Car Wash.

Police say the young was using the vacuum at the car wash without paying last Wednesday, when he was confronted by an employee. The 19 year old started using racial slurs against the employee, before assaulting him. The employee was injured in the scuffle.

Police were able to identify the suspect using video surveillance and he turned himself in on Thursday.

STRATFORD - A cab driver was assaulted on Thursday morning in Stratford.

Police say the cabbie originally called police about a hostile person in the back of their cab. While they were on the phone, the suspect in the back opened the parition separating the front and back and seat and starting assaulting the cab driver, while he was still operating the vehicle.

The driver managed to stop the car and took off on foot to escape the assault. Police arrived on scene and located the 33 year old suspect moments later and charged him with assault causing bodily harm and possession of cannabis in excess of 30 grams.

PARIS - Brant OPP were called to Abeles Avenue in regards to a domestic disturbance on Saturday morning around 3:13. 

A 54 year old person from Kitchener was arrested at the scene and charged with assault, theft of a motor vehicle and two counts of driving while under suspension. 

Police are not releasing the identity of the person they arrested to preserve the anonymity of the victim.

PARIS - Brant OPP are investigating several cats of mischief on Abeles Avenue in Paris overnight Saturday. 

Police the tires and rear windows of two vehicles on the street were badly damaged. 

The County of Brant OPP is continuing to investigate and is asking anyone in the surrounding area that has security surveillance footage that may have captured a vehicle or individuals responsible, to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
