A dog biting incident and impaired driver were charged by Woodstock Police over the weekend.
WOODSTOCK -- A dog owner and speeding motorist are each facing charges after two separate incidents over the weekend.
On Friday May 30th, Woodstock Police say a female was walking down Wellington Street near Princess when a dog ran from a property, jumped up and bit her. The women required medical attention. After an investigation, police charged the 39 year-old owner of the dog with Municipal offences of allowing a dog to run at large, failing to register a dog, failing to obtain a licence and harbouring more than permitted domestic dogs.
Later that evening around 9:30 pm, police clocked a speeding vehicle on County Road 4 within the city limits and stopped the driver. He was taken back to police headquarters for breath tests/
31 year-old David Palmer of Woodstock was subsequently charged with impaired driving, driving over the legal limit, driving without insurance and speeding. He will appear in court at a later date.
