Motorists in our region are getting an failing grade from the OPP. The totals are in from last night's snowstorm, and Western Region OPP responded to a grand total of 273 crashes on our roads in a 24-hour period. That has police giving motorists and "F" grade for their driving during the first major winter storm of the season. The most serious incident was a multi-vehicle crash at around 5:30 Wednesday on the Westbound 401 near Putnam. An OPP cruiser was struck by another motorist, but luckily the officer was out of the car, responding to another driver that had slid off the roadway. OPP Sargent Dave Rektor says people that were driving over 100km/h during the storm, should have been driving in the 60-70km/h range.
