Potters Road Repairs

Emergency repairs on Potters Road this summer is coming with a hefty price tag.

OXFORD COUNTY -- After two and a half months and $190,000, Potters Road is once again safe to drive on.

The road, which was closed down July 17 after a section of the road embankment collapsed was reopened to the public September 30.

County Council got a look at the cost earlier this month.

According to a report presented to Council, the reconstruction of the slope was complicated due to the 36 foot height of the embankment, the high
pressure gas main near the top of the slope and access issues to the bottom of the slope.

The report also indicated that $115,000 of the final price tag was due to equipment rental.

The cost of the repair will be financed through the Roads Reserve.
