Downtown construction in Woodstock is putting a bit of a damper on local business. The local BIA is reminding everyone to visit the Downtown and that all of the shops and restaurants are still open and ready to serve.
WOODSTOCK - Downtown Woodstock is still open for business.
That is the message from the local BIA as the Downtown undergoes some major construction. Manager Virginia Armstrong says the local businesses are all staying open during the construction and ready to serve.
"I just want to reach out and say to everybody that we are still open for business. All of our restaurants, retailers, services, they are still good and doors are open, come on down. We are still getting pedestrian traffic, it can be a little difficult to get to Dundas Street but their is lot's of parking on the side streets and we invite to keep shopping local and keep coming downtown.
Armstrong says their still lot's of parking on the side streets and in the municipal lots.
"Parking is still available on a lot of the side streets, we also have the municipal lots and there is lot's of parking there. It just gives you an opportunity to take a little walk and enjoy the sunshine."
She notes the construction has been a challenge for several business owners and everyone is excited for when it will be over.
"It is going to look great when it's all cleaned up and fresh asphalt and it is going to lead us into our crosswalk project for next Spring. Actually now, we have applications out and calls for artists to submit their drawings, so that we can judge them and have them ready for the Spring."
