The Town of Ingersoll will fly the pride flag once again to support the local pride community and the victims of Orlando.
INGERSOLL - The Pride Flag will fly once again in Ingersoll.
Members of council, the general public and the Oxford County Pride Coalition will be on hand Friday at 6 P.M. to raise the flag at Dewan Park. This is in response to the news earlier this week where someone took down the flag and tossed it in the trash. Member of the Pride Coalition Kelly Walker tells Heart FM what went through her head when she heard the news.
"Well at first I was really hurt and I went through a number of emotions, a little bit of anger and stuff but now I just want to promote love not hate, I wish the person or persons that did this would have chose to speak to me directly because then at least we could have debated our issues and maybe I could see where he was coming from and why because this wasn't just a pride flag this was in honour of the victims in Orlando as well."
Oxford OPP are still investigating the act of mischief and several tips from the community have already poured in. They are hoping to provide an update soon.
