Daily case numbers are down today and so is testing in the Province. Ontario also confirmed 1,085 recoveries today and another 11 COVID-19 related deaths.
ONTARIO - The Province of Ontario has confirmed 1,074 new cases of COVID-19 this morning, bringing the total number of cases in the Province to 320,448.
The Province confirmed another 11 COVID-19 related deaths this morning, bringing the total in Ontario to 7,173. Another 1,085 cases have been labelled resolved, bringing the total number of resolved cases to 300,769. The Province also confirmed 24 new variant cases today, this means we now have a total of 1,131 cases of the variant that originated in the U.K, 46 of the variant traced back to South Africa and 34 that originated in Brazil.
The province completed 28,526 tests yesterday. We currently have 761 COVID-19 patients in the hospital with 292 people in the ICU and 194 in the ICU on a ventilator. Over half of the new cases today are coming from three regions with 313 new cases in Toronto, 199 in Peel and 101 in York Region.
