The Province of Ontario is reporting 1,265 new cases of COVID-19 today, 1,700 resolved cases and an additional 33 deaths.
ONTARIO - The Province of Ontario has confirmed 1,265 new cases of COVID-19 this morning, bringing the total number of cases in the Province to 279,452. The positivity rate today is 4%.
The Province also announced 33 new COVID-19 related deaths bringing the total to 6,538. Another 1,700 cases have been labelled resolved, bringing the total number of resolved cases to 258,603. The Province has confirmed several new cases of the UK variant over the weekend, bringing the total to 219 and 1 case of the South African variant.
The province completed 28,303 tests yesterday. We currently have 901 COVID-19 patients in the hospital with 335 people in the ICU and 226 in the ICU on a ventilator. Most of the new cases are coming from hot spot regions with 421 new cases in Toronto, 256 in Peel and 130 in York Region.
