Province Confirms 1,268 New Cases of COVID-19 This Morning

Ontario is reporting 1,268 new cases of COVID-19 this morning and 1,114 resolved cases.

ONTARIO - The Province of Ontario has confirmed 1,268 new cases of COVID-19 this morning, bringing the total number of cases in the Province to 319,374.

The total number of COVID-19 related deaths in the Province after the weekend is 7,162. Another 1,114 cases have been labelled resolved, bringing the total number of resolved cases to 299,684. The Province also confirmed several new variant cases over the weekend, this means we now have a total of 1,106 cases of the variant that originated in the U.K, 44 of the variant traced back to South Africa and 34 that originated in Brazil. 

The province completed 33,975 tests yesterday. We currently have 699 COVID-19 patients in the hospital with 298 people in the ICU and 187 in the ICU on a ventilator. Over half of the new cases today are coming from three regions with 366 new cases in Toronto, 220 in Peel and 147 in York Region.
