ONTARIO - We should have a better idea of which non essential businesses will be allowed to open first in the Province in the coming days.
Premier Doug Ford says they are currently looking at it.
"We will be rolling this out over the next few days, but it will be certain areas where you don't have to worry about working side by side on a line where you can't practice social distancing. Maybe outdoor activities, we can look at, but again that will be rolled out over the next few days and we will be consulting with municipalities and sectors, to make sure that when the time come and they get back to work that they practice social distancing and in some cases they have proper PPE items for the people going back to work."
Ford says he is not going to get into specifics right now.
"I'm getting endless calls about opening up. I even got a call from Rob's son, my brothers son, saying uncle Doug, am I going to camp or not and I told him, I can't answer that, he goes, well find out and get back to me right away and I thought really, I'm getting lobbied by my 12 year old nephew too about camp, but that is important to people."
Ford says they will be looking for specific bench marks in order to reopen Ontario.
"The benchmarks will be coming from the Chief Medical Officer of Health and the health team but we will be setting certain bench marks before we open up. Keep in mind, I want to emphasize this, even when we open up, sadly and unfortunately, people will still be dying, we will still have deaths every day and everyone wants to open up and I'm thinking, really, we are seeing tremendous death toll every single day, it is the first thing I ask every morning and it hits you really hard in the heart, believe me."
Ford was clear the list being done, doesn't mean businesses will be opening up tomorrow or even in the coming days, it is a plan for when they lift the emergency order and what order businesses will be allowed to open first.
