Long-term care residents who have received at least three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine will be able to go on social day trips starting on Monday.
ONTARIO - The province is about to start lifting some of the restrictions for long-term care homes.
Starting on Monday February 7th, long-term care residents who have received at least three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine will be able to go on social day trips. The province will also increase the maximum number of designated caregivers per resident to four, but only two caregivers will be able to care for the same resident at the same time.
Starting on Monday February 21st, long-term care homes will start accepting visitors over the age of five as long as they have received at least two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine. Each resident will be able to have up to three visitors at a time (including caregivers). Long-term care homes will also be able to resume adult day programs and bring in external personal care services. Social group activities will have a maximum limit of 10 people.
Also starting on Monday the 21st, all long-term care residents will be able to go on social day trips regardless of their vaccination status, but only those who have received least three doses of a COVID vaccine will be able to spend the night elsewhere.
Starting on Monday March 14th, residents will be able to have up to four visitors at a time (including caregivers) and they will also be able to see visitors under the age of 5. All residents will also be able to enjoy overnight trips regardless of their vaccination status.
