The MPP for Oxford County was in Tillsonburg to announce some Provincial funding for the Town and the County of Oxford.
TILLSONBURG - Ernie Hardeman has made 2 big announcements involving Provincial funding for Tillsonburg and Oxford County.
The funding is $32,500 for the Manufacturing Acceleration Program in Tillsonburg and $16,500 to the Rural Oxford Economic Development Corporation for the 2018 Business Retention and Expansion study. Tillsonburg Mayor Stephen Molnar says the expansion is enhancing the competitiveness of local business through the adoption of new technology and software programs.
"This is the continuation of a positive relationship between the Province and the Town of Tillsonburg, finding creative ways to also involve the private sector in an investment that will ultimately satisfy creative future opportunities for job growth."
Molnar says the Manufacturing Acceleration Program will also encourage a more integrated manufacturing sector in Tillsonburg that will help create new jobs.
The 2018 Business Retention and Expansion study will identify key issues and strategic priorities for the next three to five years for the Rural Oxford Economic Development Corporation.
MPP and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs Ernie Hardeman says Rural Ontario has been ignored for too long.
"A strong and vibrant agriculture and agri-food sector directly contributes to a healthy economy across the province, and we are committed to showing the world that Ontario is open for business."
The funding comes from the Province's Rural Economic Development Fund.
