Ernie Hardeman has been re-elected as our MPP and he will serve in a PC majority government.
OXFORD COUNTY - Ernie Hardeman has won his ninth election campaign and will serve another term as Oxford County's Conservative Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP).
He secured about 55 percent of the total vote in Oxford last night with 27,061 ballots cast in his favour.
Bernia Martin and the Liberal Party placed in second with 11,348 votes, which is about 23 percent of the total vote.
The NDP's Khadijah Haliru secured 11 percent of the vote with 5,374 ballots cast in her name.
Then came Grace Harper and the Ontario Party with 1,414 votes (2.89 percent), Peter Beimers and the New Blue Party with 1,317 votes (2.7 percent), and the Libertarian Party's Henryk Szymczyszyn with 276 votes (0.6 percent).
All 64 of the polling locations in Oxford County were reporting results as of this morning.
Looking at the province as a whole, the Progressive Conservatives won a third majority government and the NDP will serve as the official Opposition once again. The Liberals also gained enough seats in the legislature to secure official party status.
