The TVDSB is going to form sub-committees with parent/guardian representatives from each of the schools affected by the Oxford North Elementary Panel Attendance Area Review.
WOODSTOCK - The Thames Valley District School Board will be looking for public feedback regarding the Oxford North Elementary Panel Attendance Area Review.
Manager of Planning Ben Puzanov says this is in response to the new school being built in the north end of Woodstock.
“One of the goals of the review is to establish an attendance area for the approved new school in north Woodstock. This review will not only allow TVDSB to address future residential growth but also to accommodate students closer to where they live.”
The report takes a look at how the school board can balance the enrollment for elementary schools in Zorra Township, Innerkip, Blandford-Blenheim, and north Woodstock. Please note the recommendations included in this report will only take effect following public consultation, trustee approval, and once the new Woodstock school is built.
Thames Valley is now going to form school-level sub-committees with parent-guardian representatives from each of the affected schools. Chair of the Board Lori-Ann Pizzolato says the committee meetings will begin this September.
“I want to take this opportunity to sincerely thank the parents and caregivers that volunteer their time to gather and give feedback about potential attendance area changes like this. I look forward to hearing from communities in north Oxford so we can strengthen the options under consideration.”
The list of affected schools includes Zorra Highland Park Public School, Hickson Central Public School, Innerkip Central Public Schoo, Blenheim District Public School, Central Public School, Northdale Public School, and Eastdale Public School.
The TVDSB is also going to form an Attendance Area Review Committee, also known as an AARC Committee.
