Today is the opening day for pre-trial motions in the 1st degree murder trial of Michael Rafferty. The 30-year-old man is accused in the kidnapping and murder of 8-year-old Tori Stafford in Woodstock, in April of 2009. The pre-trial motions, which are expected to take up to 4-weeks, will likely be subject to a publication ban. Jury selection will then take a week, starting February 27th. The trial itself will begin in late-March, and could take several months to unfold. All the court proceedings are being held in London.
