TILLSONBURG - They will be having a small Remembrance Day ceremony at the Cenotaph in Tillsonburg this year.
Poppy Chairperson for the Tillsonburg Legion Don Burton says it will be a small ceremony this year.
"We will not have a silent walk this year, we are not allowed to have parades. The cenotaph service will start at 10:45 am this year and the service will be shorter than usual this year."
Burton notes they are asking people to watch the ceremony at home on Rogers TV, however they will not turn people away.
"We're encouraging people to watch it from home but those who do come, we would like them to wear face coverings and practice social distancing at the cenotaph."
He adds it is incredibly important we honour the men and women on November 11th who sacrificed everything for our freedoms.
"I just hope that people do recognize November 11th and what it represents. Even if they can't come to the cenotaph, they can recognize it in their own way at home and just think about people they know or loved ones who gave the ultimate sacrifice or are continuing to serve in the Canadian militaries, it is a very important day."
The ceremony will be broadcast on Rogers TV at 3:00 pm Wednesday and of course you can tune into Heart FM's Remembrance Day Program starting at 10:52.
