Southside Public School is almost ready for the upcoming school year.
WOODSTOCK - The renovations at Southside Public School are coming along well ahead of the upcoming school year.
Crews worked on the Kindergarten play area and the tarmac beside the building over the past couple of months. Work is also wrapping up on the schools parking lot. It should be done by the time the kids go back to school on Tuesday.
Principal Karen Langford tells Heart FM about some of the work that was done indoors over the summer.
"They've made a few updates in the building. The washrooms are brand new and they've made some updates to two of our classrooms that will connect to the new addition."
Although the project isn't expected to be completed until September 2018, Principal Karen Langford says it will have little impact on the students.
"The work should not impact the school throughout the school year. We will have that move as the students in the main building transition to the new addition over the Christmas holidays. Other than that everything is still open and working as it should be."
Renovations to the main building will get underway in the New Year.
