ONTARIO - It looks like Ontario's Deputy Premier and Health Minister is ready to take a step back.
Multiple media outlets are reporting that Christine Elliott is not planning to run for re-election this June. She is expected to make the official announcement today.
She's the MPP for Newmarket-Aurora. She was first elected in 2006, but took a step back after she lost the 2015 Ontario PC leadership race. She entered the party's leadership race once again in 2018, but she lost to Premier Doug Ford.
Elliott has been the Health Minister since 2018.
