Students in Ontario are expected to resume in person learning next Monday, January 17.
We still have not gotten any kind of official word from the Province as several media outlets report kids will indeed be heading back to school next week.
Toronto Star Reporter Robert Benzie was the first to break the news with a tweet last night.
Premier Doug Ford and Education Minister Stephen Lecce have not been heard from in over a week.
On Monday students returned to in person learning in Alberta and B.C after just one week of virtual learning. When the Premier first announced a return to in person learning, the plan was to have students return to in person learning on January 17.
Some frustrated parents and struggling students will welcome the news, while others remain fearful of heading back to school and spreading the variant.
Ontario has also updated the screening guidance for schools and child-care facilities and will again require that children with sore throats, runny noses or headaches stay home until their symptoms improve.
BREAKING: All Ontario schoolchildren will return to in-classroom learning on schedule next Monday. Premier Doug Ford said last week the Jan. 17 date for schools reopening was the goal. Public health officials have signed off on the decision. #onpoli #COVID19 #onted
