Oxford OPP are reminding residents that stealing road signs can have deadly consequences after a number of stop signs and detour signs have been stolen recently.
NORWICH/ZORRA - Oxford OPP are investigating after a number of road signs were stolen in the Township of Norwich and Zorra.
Since April of last year a number of stop signs, detour signs and share the road signs have been taken in both communities.
Detachment Commander Inspector Tony Hymers says these crimes are no laughing matter.
"Road signs, such as stop signs, are there for the safety of the motoring public, passengers and pedestrians. Stealing road signs can have deadly consequences. This is NOT a game, this type of activity puts everyone at risk and jeopardizes the safety on innocent members in all our communities."
Traffic signs provide crucial information, especially to people not familiar with the area and removing them could have deadly consequences.
