The days of the video rental store are pretty much dead. Rogers has become the latest chain to officially bail on the video store business. The remaining 93 stores that still rented movies and games in Canada are in liquidation mode, including the Woodstock and Tillsonburg locations. Sunday was the last day the chain rented movies and games. Rogers intends to keep those locations open to serve its other businesses, such as TV and wireless services. Back in December the company announced it was closing 40 per cent of its video shops. The rest are also being shut down now. Last year, Blockbuster Canada also decided to close up shop across the country, shuttering more than 400 stores, including the Woodstock location.
