Race Coordinator Tamara Bull says about 1,000 people supported the event on July 19th.
TILLSONBURG - The second annual Tillsonburg Running with the Bulls was a huge success.
Race Coordinator Tamara Bull was blown away by the turnout on the Trans Canada Trail on Saturday, July 19th.
"This year we had 375 runners only and the walkers didn't have to register this year so they were on top of that. Judging by the crowd, easily 1,000 people showed up. It was absolutely unbelievable!"
A total of 222 runners and walkers participated in the inaugural event in 2024, and raised $22,178.
Bull set a fundraising goal of $25,000 for this years event, and the total exceeded her expectations.
"As race day approached we were just over that, so I set a new goal at $30,000 and it ended up coming in over that. I'm so grateful!
The total was $30,640.83 as of last night, and Bull has received another $100 donation since then.
All of the money will be going to the Kindred Foundation's ULink Patient and Family Fund. It helps families cover additional costs related to the cancer diagnosis of an infant, child or young adult under 30.
Bull says families in Oxford County will have priority over the funding that was raises through Running With The Bulls.
"All of the funds will stay mostly in this area if there are applicants in this area that need it, but truly they do go Canada wide."
The fundraiser will return on Saturday July 18th, 2026 and you can donate to the cause online here.
