It will follow the same route as last year, starting and ending at Avondale Church.
TILLSONBURG - Santa Claus is coming to Tillsonburg!
The Tillsonburg Santa Claus Parade returns this Saturday with a 6:00 p.m. start time once again.
It will start Avondale Church before it goes up to Oxford Street, cuts down Bidwell Street, passes by Tillsonburg Hospital and Woodingford Lodge before heading down Broadway, and ending at the staging area on Brock Street.
Michelle Wegg, the President of the Tillsonburg and Area Optimist Club, says they have quite the line up this year
"We've seen now almost 80 entries in which is astounding! Normally we see about 40 or 50 sign up ahead of time and then we get the rest of them showing up the day of."
The lineup includes local bands, sports teams, dance groups, and of course Santa Claus as the big finale. Wegg says it also includes some local groups collecting donations for people in need over the holidays.
"We have our firefighters leading the show off collecting donations for the Helping Hand Food Bank. We have our Kinettes that will also be there with the Kinsmen collecting hats, mittens and scarves."
The Tillsonburg Tornadoes hockey club will also be collecting new and gently used coats hats, mitts, and scarves on the Wayside Sod float.
Wegg says the parade should take over an hour, so it's a good idea to bundle up to stay warm.
