First responders have been busy today, pulling vehicles out of ditches and responding to several collisions in and around Oxford County.

OXFORD COUNTY - First responders have had a busy morning after some regions were hit with as much as 20 centimetres of snow.

Oxford OPP have responded to several collisions and vehicles in the ditch. Acting Sergeant Ed Sanchuk says he actually had to help a couple of people on his way into work this morning.

"We have a lot of reports of collisions, people in the ditch spinning out, I actually stopped to help 3 people this morning get their vehicle out of the ditch."

Sanchuk says everyone needs to slow down and drive to the conditions.

"Please give yourself room between yourself and other vehicles, you will not be able to stop on a dime. Make sure your vehicle is entirely clear, front windshield, back windows, side windows, get all of the snow off your vehicle. Have a full tank of gas and just have a lot of patience, because the drive today will be a lot slower than yesterday."

Sanchuk has not been made aware of any serious injuries today, but with all of the collisions and knew ones happening every minute, this could change. He also wanted to streets the importance of giving our snow plows the space and room they need to get the job done.
