OXFORD COUNTY - It may only be June but Oxford County staff already have 2019 on the brain.
They have posted a survey online on Speak Up Oxford.
Manager of Finance Carolyn King says they are looking for public input before they prepare next year's budget.
"We like to gather public input because who we work for. We want to know the priorities and preferences that Oxford County residents feel and this is the perfect opportunity to have a voice and have their say in how the budget is developed in 2019."
King gives us some examples of questions.
"We ask about roads; what residents think about our roads and whether they should be enhanced, maintained or reduced. We also ask questions about how residents want to participate in the survey; participate online or attend council groups to discuss the meeting. There's also an open forum question at the end that allows residents to ask any question they want to ask or give their comments about the services provided at the county level and our area municipality levels as well."
The survey will close on August 31st and the results will help staff prepare a draft budget to present to council in the fall.
You can find the survey online here. Hard copies are also available at select municipal offices, Oxford County Library branches and at the Oxford County Administration Building.
