Police say they had to taser a man who is accused of sexually assaulting a woman in downtown Woodstock.
WOODSTOCK - A good Samaritan is being credited with stopping a sexual assault in Woodstock.
According to police a 36 year old man approached a 50 year old woman downtown early Tuesday evening. The man was agitated and touched the woman inappropriately and yelled derogatory comments towards her. A bystander called 911 and police were able to find the man. He apparently tried to fight with police during the arrest and police had to us their taser to subdue the man.
He was taken to the hospital by EMS where he continued to show signs of aggression.
The man has been charged with Sexual Assault, resist police and failing to comply with a probation order. Woodstock Police did not release his name.
