Officers are encouraging drivers to slow down and be patient when they come across farm equipment on the roads this planting season.
Oxford OPP are reminding motorists to share the road with large farm equipment.
Planting season is right around the corner and you will start to see a lot of farm machinery on the roads and highways in
"Slow down, be patient and pass only when it is safe to do so. The worse thing you can do is tail gate a large piece of farm equipment because the driver, operator of that equipment have several blind spots, so if you follow too closely they will not be able to see you in any of their mirrors."
Culbert says farmers can do their part by making sure they do their 360 check on all of their equipment and making sure they have a slow moving vehicle sign.
"Checking to make sure all of their emergency lighting is working, that their headlights are working if they have them and also having a slow moving vehicle sign as well, in a prominent place so that people can see it."
