Oxford OPP responded to a call about a man in distress at a residence on Dufferin Street.
NORWICH - The Special Investigations Unit is investigating after an incident in Norwich.
At around 2:30 p.m. yesterday, Oxford OPP responded to a call about a man in distress at a residence on Dufferin Street.
As police arrived the man barricaded himself inside the residence. After midnight officers entered the home out of concern for the man’s safety.
When they entered the home one of the on-duty OPP officers shot an Anti-Riot Weapon at the 44-year-old man.
He was apprehended under the Mental Health Act and transported to hospital with unknown injuries.
