The Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign will run from May 1st to May 7th this year and a pre-order contest is underway in Thamesford.
THAMESFORD - Smile Cookie season is right around the corner and the Thamesford Tim Hortons is already accepting pre-orders.
The campaign officially runs from May 1st and 7th this year and pre-orders are being accepted until April 30th.
All of the proceeds will be going to Andrew's Legacy, a local charity that raises money to install AEDs in public places. It started eight years ago after 15-year-old Andrew Stoddart died of a cardiac arrest while playing soccer in Kintore.
His mother Cara Schmidt is one of the co-founders of Andrew's Legacy.
"There were no defibrillators at AJ Baker Public School where we were playing. There needs to be this life saving equipment everywhere so our family got together and it just went from there. To date, we have donated over 70 defibrillators into public spaces including soccer fields, churches, and baseball diamonds."
Andrew's Legacy has been benefitting from the Smile Cookie campaign for the past five years now. The Thamesford Tims has been one of the most successful Smile Cookie locations in the Oxford, Middlesex, and London marking area since then, ranking in second place during that first year and topping the list every year after. Over 18,000 cookies were sold for $1 each in Thamesford last year.
Schmidt says they're bringing back the popular pre-order contest this year.
"You have to order two dozen so you can get entered into the draw to win a $50 Tim Hortons gift card, a $100 Eleven Sixty Bar & Grill gift card, and a Landmark Cinemas gift pack with two passes, two popcorns, and two drinks."
You can preorder cookies at the Thamesford Tim Hortons or you can fill out the online order form here. They also have delivery options available.
Cara Schmidt stopped by the Heart FM studio to chat with Dan and Marcie on Friday April 21st and you can listen to the full interview below:
