With a smog alert in place here in Oxford County, the Woodstock Fire Department is reminding residents they're not supposed to be starting open air fires. Any property owner who has a permit to burn in city limits signed an agreement that one of the restrictions they face is not to burn when there's a smog advisory in effect. The burning restriction is over concerns about air quality during smog days. The Fire Department says it's up to residents to be aware of the advisories.
