South-West Oxford Launches Child Care Survey

South-West Oxford officials would like to know more about the current child care situation in the Township.

SOUTH-WEST OXFORD - The Township of South-West Oxford has launched a new online survey all about local child care.

Clerk Julie Forth says officials would like to know more about the current situation in the Township and how it's affecting parents and child care providers. She gives us a few examples of some of the survey questions.

"We're asking if there is a need a child care. It also asks what area the resident is living in as well as ages that they would need child care for."

The survey also asks child care providers about the number of kids they look after and their age range.

It's all anonymous and the Township's Engage and Inform Committee will look over the results afterwards. Forth says they're also going to share their findings with the County.

"We've also been asked to share the results with the County of Oxford's EarlyON program to see if there are ways that we may be able to partner and help address some of the need that is there through the survey."

You can find the survey online here or you can contact the Township to ask for a paper copy.

Forth says the Engage and Inform Committee will meet sometime in the beginning of March to determine when the survey should end based on the number of responses.
