OXFORD/ST.THOMAS/ELGIN - Southwestern Public Health confirmed 33 new cases of the virus this morning and 11 recoveries.
The Health Unit also confirmed the 11th COVID-19 related death this morning. We currently have 149 active cases with most of them in Norwich Township, Aylmer and St. Thomas. Here is the breakdown of the locations according to Southwestern Public Health:

East Zorra-Tavistock - 4
Zorra Township - 3
South-West Oxford - 1
St. Thomas - 32

We currently have 3 people in the hospital with the virus including 2 in the ICU. The Health Unit is also reporting 5 active outbreaks at long term cares. They include PeopleCare in Tavistock with 2 staff cases, Woodingford Lodge in Tillsonburg and Bethany Care Home in Norwich.
The number one symptom that has led to a positive test in the region is a cough, followed by a fever. Other symptoms that have resulted in positive tests include fatigue, headache, sore throat, shortness of breath and nasal congestion just to name a few. 17% of people who have tested positive in our region were asymptomatic.
